Abstract :
A series of polycrystalline Ni–Cd ferrites were prepared by the ceramic method. The ferrite system exhibits cubic crystal structure. The lattice parameter dependence on Cd content obeys Vegardʹs law. Mössbauer spectroscopic studies of these ferrites were carried out by measuring average hyperfine field (Hn), quadruple splitting (Qs) and isomer shift (Is). These data are supported by the study of saturation magnetization, which suggests that Neelʹs two sublattice model governs the behavior of these ferrites up to about x=0.2 and after that triangular spin prevails. Moreover, the electrical properties were studied in the frequency range between 10 kHz and 15 MHz. For different compositions, the dielectric constant shows normal behavior with respect to frequency while loss tangent shows an anomalous behavior.
