Abstract :
The superconducting properties and structural changes of HgBa2CaCu2O6+δ and HgBa2Ca2Cu3O8+δ systems synthesized by the sol–gel method were studied as a function of post-annealing in oxygen flow using thermogravimetric, X-ray diffraction and magnetic susceptibility studies. The point defect chemistry approach which explains the results obtained is presented.
