Abstract :
Feasibility study of Steam Reforming (SR) Technology for treating Low-Level Radioactive Organic Liquid Waste (LLROLW) such as fluorinated oils has been performed. Temperature dependences of vaporization for simulated wastes have been studied through the thermogravimetric method. The results have revealed that fluorinated oils were vaporized completely at temperature higher than 873 K. The engineering experiment has been performed using a pilot scale steam reformer at the rate of 3 kg/h. The environmental requirements for exhaust gases have been satisfied. These results confirmed that SR technology is applicable to LLROLW.
