Bound state of two 3He atoms confined in a narrow pore Original Research Article

The ground state of two 3He atoms confined in a narrow pore is calculated with Monte Carlo methods. In contrast to three-dimensional and strictly one-dimensional cases, a bound state is formed in quasi-one dimension; the binding energy depends on the radius R of the pore and takes a maximum value at R smaller than 10 Å.
