Abstract :
The critical behavior of the single-crystalline Cd[CrxTiy]Se4 spinels (where y=0.07, 0.42 and 0.59) investigated around the paramagnetic–ferromagnetic phase transition revealed the values of the critical exponents close to those predicted by the calculations for a three-dimensional (3D) anisotropic short-range Ising ferromagnet. The dc magnetic susceptibility and magnetization measurements showed the Curie temperature of 130 K and the saturation magnetization above 5.19 μB/f.u. slightly depend on the Ti content. An increase of the positive value of the temperature independent magnetic susceptibility as the Ti-content increases suggests a significant Van Vleck contribution.
