Novel synthetic approach for antifungal and antibacterial organotin compounds

A series of novel organotin compounds have been synthesised from the reaction of tribenzyltin chloride with quinones/barbiturates/triazoles on basic alumina in an open vessel under microwave irradiation (MWI). The reaction time has been brought down from hours to seconds compared to conventional heating. All the synthesis compounds have shown significant antibacterial and antifungal activity.
