Abstract
The reaction between Me3N·BH2CONHC2H5 (1) and anhydrous HCl gas in diethyl ether resulted in the formation of an unprecedented salt, Me3N·BH2C(OH)N+HC2H5Cl− (2), whose crystal structure unambiguously shows that the amide hydrogen atom is oriented in trans configuration with respect to the hydroxyl group.
