4-Methoxypyridine N-oxide: An electron-rich ligand that can simultaneously bridge three silver atoms

4-Methoxypyridine N-oxide reacts with various silver(I) salts to consistently generate 1-D coordination polymers within which the ligand bridges one, two or three silver atoms. In all three structures described the counteranions are non-coordinating and there are subtle differences in the ways in which the polymers propagate along the 1-D chain.
