Abstract
The metal-promoted reactions between 2,6-diacetylpyridine and 4-methyl-1,2-phenylenediamine, 3-azaoctane-1,8-diamine (spermidine) or N,N′-bis(2-aminoethyl)-1,3-propanediamine in the presence of lanthanide(III) ions acting as template agents afford new supramolecular dinuclear complexes of podate type with terminal acetylpyridyl groups and N4O2, N5O2 or N6O2 set of donor atoms as a result of [2+1] Schiff base condensation. The complexes were characterized by spectral data (IR, 1H NMR, FAB-MS), thermogravimetric and elemental analysis.
