Abstract :
The reaction of 3CdSO4·8H2O with 4,4′-bipyridine (bpy) in aqueous solution gives rise to a coordination polymer [Cd(μ4-SO4)(bpy)]n (1). X-ray single-crystal diffraction analyses reveal that the compound in space group P21212 creates a three-dimensional structure with unusual μ4-sulfate-bridges.
