Abstract
The reaction between 4-trifluromethyl-6-methylpyrimidine-2-thione (4-CF3-6-CH3pymSH) and dimethylthallium(III) hydroxide in methanol yielded [Me2Tl(4-CF3-6-CH3pymS)]4; this compound exhibits a tetranuclear structure with thionate ligands acting as bridges between two metallic atoms. Vibrational and 1H, 13C and 205Tl NMR spectra of the complex are discussed and related to the structure.
