Abstract :
The solid state structure of [RuCl(CO)(η2-C,N-C6H4CHNC6H4-4-Me)(PPh3)2] · CHCl3 clearly shows the presence of a Ru–Cl⋯ClCHCl interaction within the sum of the van der Waals radius. This interaction has the effect of lengthening the Ru–N and shortening the Ru–C bonds of the cycloruthenated Schiff base relative to those observed in the previously reported structure of [RuCl(CO)(η2-C,N-C6H4CHNC6H4-4-Me)(PPh3)2] · CH2Cl2.
