Abstract
The complex Mo0(diphos)(CO)(NO)(dtc) with diphos=1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane and dtc−=dimethyldithiocarbamate shows a longest-wavelength absorption at λmax=520 nm which is assigned to a (dtc− → NO+) ligand-to-ligand charge transfer (LLCT) transition. LLCT excitation leads to the release of NO and dtc which form a blue species (λmax=690 nm). The photolysis proceeds with φ=0.018 at λirr=546 nm.
