Optical properties of GdIII[MIII(CN)6] with MCr and Co. Phosphorescence from ligand-field states of [M(CN)6]3− under ambient conditions

Gadolinium induces a heavyatom effect in the complexes [M(CN)6]3− with MCr and Co. As a consequence the compounds Gd[M(CN)6] show an intense phosphorescence from dd states under ambient conditions.
