Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of the secondary phosphine complex image

A convenient synthesis of image (1) from rhodium(III) chloride trihydrate, sodium nitrite, and image in ethanolic solution is described. The crystal and molecular structure of 1 was determined by a single-crystal X-ray diffraction study.
