Abstract :
A novel indium phosphite, In2(HPO3)3(H2O) was hydrothermally prepared and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of the compound consists of In2O10 dimer and pseudo pyramidal HPO3, which are connected by sharing vertexes to form the 3D inorganic framework with a In/P ratio of 2/3. In2(HPO3)3(H2O) is the first indium phosphite synthesized by hydrothermal technique. Presence of the In–O–In linkage leading to a In2O10 dimer in the framework is a noteworthy feature. It was characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, ICP, elemental analysis and IR spectra.
