Screening of ATP hydrolysis by Zr(IV) and Eu(III) complexes

The dephosphorylation of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) by various zirconium (IV) and europium (III) complexes is described. Release of phosphate was followed by an automated, robotics-based colorimetric assay which is compatible with the presence of these high-valent metal ions.
