Abstract :
A novel dimiric PbII complex containing two different bipyridine ligands, [Pb2(2,2′-bipy)2(μ-4,4′-bipy)(NO3)4] (2,2′-bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine and 4,4′-bipy = 4,4′-bipyridine), has been synthesized and characterized. The single-crystal X-ray data shows the coordination number in two PbII ions is six with “stereo-chemically active” electron lone pairs, and the coordination sphere is hemidirected. There are three weak Pb–O interactions that produce two-dimensional polymer with holodirected geometry.
