Abstract :
A new photoluminescent open-framework copper (I) bromide polymer, [Cu2Br2(BPP)]n(BPP = 1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)propane) (1), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. The structure of complex 1 features a 2-D inorganic–organic hybrid coordination network with a 1-D copper (I) chain (Cu(I)⋯Cu(I) separation is 2.849(4) Å) bridged by trans-Br atoms. An intense emission of complex 1 at 486 nm (λex = 370 nm) was observed.
