Abstract :
A novel 1D coordination polymer, [Cu3(imH)8(im)2(ClO4)4]n (1) (imH = imidazole), has been synthesized and X-ray crystallographically characterized. In the long range form 1 affords 3D network through N–H⋯O hydrogen bonding and displays intraligand 1(π–π*) fluorescence and intraligand 3(π–π*) phosphorescence in glassy solution (DMF at 77 K).
