Abstract
A new organic–inorganic hybrid polyoxometalate based on Dawson-like polyoxotungstate cluster {SbW18O60}, formulated image (2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) (1) has been synthesized hydrothermally and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, XPS, EPS, TG and X-ray single crystal diffraction.Structural analysis shows that the polyoxoanion consists of a Dawson-like polyoxotungstate cluster anionimage encapsulating a pyramidal SbO3 group distributing two central cavities of two {W9O33} entities with fractional occupancy (0.5) within the {W18} cluster cage.
