A novel 3D supramolecular inorganic–metal–organic architecture with honeycomb-like motifs directed by the water tetramer and sulfate anion

Rectangle-like tetrameric water clusters associate with sulfate anions and coordinated water molecules into a 2D honeycomb-like layer via hydrogen-bonded interactions. The 2D layer acts as “host” supporting the metal–organic “guest” into a 3D supramolecular architecture.
