Diastereoselective formation of a complex with an atropisomeric 4,4′-biquinazoline ligand: The solid-state structure of cis-bis(4,4′-biquinazoline)dichloridoiridium(III) hexafluoridophosphate

The ligand 4,4′-biquinazoline (biqz) forms complexes in which it adopts either the P or M atropisomeric configuration; the complex cis-[Ir(biqz)2Cl2][PF6] · MeCN has been structurally characterised and shown to comprise a single enantiomeric pair (PM–Δ)(MP–Λ) of the six possible stereoisomers.
