Abstract :
Antimony sulpho-iodide has been synthesised from the single-source precursors S(CH2CH2S)2SbI or (CH2S)2SbI by a novel intra-molecular decomposition pathway which involves elimination of 1,4-dithiane whilst preserving the weak Sb–I bond. Both precursors have been characterised by X-ray crystallography.
