Abstract :
The titanocene alkyne complex Cp2Ti(η2-Me3SiC2SiMe3) (1) reacts with methanol to yield depending on the reaction conditions (solvent, temperature) different titanium methoxides [Cp2Ti(OMe)]2 (2a) and [{Cp2Ti(OMe)}2{Ti(OMe)4}] (3). The structure of the trinuclear complex 3, consisting of titanium III and IV, was confirmed by X-ray studies.
