A new coordination chemistry of sodium has been developed by complexing it with a non-chelating neutral nitrogen donor ligand hexamethylenetetramine (urotropine) in presence of cadmium(II) iodide and the new coordination compound has been characterized by X-ray single crystal structural analysis.
