Abstract :
A two-dimensional (2D) metal-organic network, [AgL]n · 2nH2O (1), has been obtained by reaction of silver(I) nitrate and new flexible asymmetric ligand, 2-sulfanylmethyl-4′-phenylcarboxylate-1,3,4-thiadiazole (L). Single crystal analysis shows that there is a new octameric water cluster consisting of a cyclic water tetramer and two dangling water dimmers in 1. Moreover, the emissive properties of 1 in solid state at room temperature and 10 K were investigated.
