Abstract
A new coordination polymer, H[{Ce(H2O)5}2{Ce(pdc)2(H2O)4}{Ce(pdc)3}(PW12O40)]•2H2O 1 (pdc = pyridine-2,6 -dicarboxylate), has been obtained by the hydrothermal reaction. It exhibits a 3D hydrotalcitelike structure constructed from 2D cationic [{Ce(H2O)5}2{Ce(pdc)2(H2O)4}{Ce(pdc)3}]2+ layers pillared by α-Keggin [PW12O40]3− anions. Polymer 1 is active for photocatalytic H2 evolution under UV irradiation.
