Preparation of cisplatin using microwave heating and continuous-flow processing as tools

Microwave heating has been used for the small-scale preparation of cisplatin, [cis-PtCl2(NH3)2], in isomerically pure form without concomitant formation of Magnus’ salt, [Pt(NH3)4][PtCl4]. In scaling up the reaction to the gram level, continuous-flow processing was employed.
