Abstract :
Silver atoms and strongly interlinking α-metatungstate units ensure the 3D structure of (NH4)5[Ag5(L)2(H2O)8(H2W12O40)]·H2O (L = pyridine-3,5-dicarboxylate dianion), which has been synthesized in aqueous solution and characterized by the normal physical methods as well as the single-crystal X-ray diffraction. This compound represents the first example that the α-metatungstate cluster as the structural motif is linked by transition metal complexes to yield unprecedented 3D framework with the highest eleven-connected number.
