Abstract :
A rare two-dimensional (2D) La(III) chiral hybrid organic–inorganic coordination polymer [La2(D-cam)2(CH3COO)2(DMA)4] (1 D-H2cam = D-camphoric acid; DMA = N,N-dimethylacetamide) based on paddle-wheel subunit has been solvothermally prepared and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 exhibits a rare low-connected layered structure with sql topology, and further stacking of layers leads to a 3D supramolecular framework. The thermogravimetric behavior and chiral nature of 1 have been also investigated. The solid-state circular dichroism(CD) measurements with the Cotton effects at λmax = 280 nm apparently show that the bulk sample of 1 is homochiral.
