Abstract :
Two one-dimensional uranium oxyflourides, (C15N2H14)UO2F3 (1) and (CH3NH2CH3)2.5(UO2)2F6.5·0.5H2O (2), have been synthesized and characterized by energy dispersive X-ray analyses (EDX), single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR and photoluminescent spectroscopy. The structures of compounds 1 and 2 both feature the UO2F5 pentagonal bipyramid as the basic building unit, but comprise different architectures with 1-(biphenyl-4-yl)-1H-imidazole (bpi) and dimethylamine (dma) as the organic templates, respectively. Photoluminescence studies indicate that the two complexes exhibit characteristic green light emission of UO22 + cations.
