Abstract :
The single crystal X-ray structure of [Cu2(HL)2(L)2](ClO4)2 (HL=1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-3,5-dimethylpyrazole) shows each copper(II) ion in a rather regular square pyramidal N2O3 environment. The two copper(II) ions, which are bridged by the oxygen atoms of two dehydronated ligands, are at a distance of 3.07(6) Å, and coupled anti-ferromagnetically. The single crystal X-ray structure of [Co(HL)2(NO3)](NO3) shows that one nitrate anion is present in the ionic form, while the other is didentately bonded to the cobalt(II) ion. The cobalt ion is in a very strongly distorted octahedral N2O2O′2 environment.
