Abstract
The cluster [Bu4N]2[W6Cl8F6] has been prepared from [Bu4N]2[W6Cl8(OSO2CF3)6] (2) and [Bu4N]F·xH2O, and was characterized by elemental analysis, X-ray crystallography and 19F NMR spectroscopy. The 19F NMR chemical shift was found to be solvent dependent, and the 1JWF value was determined to be 69 Hz. The series of clusters [Bu4N]2[W6Cl8X6] (X=F (1), OSO2CF3 (2), Cl (3), Br (4), I (5), NCO (6), NCS (7), NCSe (8)) were characterized by 183W NMR spectroscopy.
