Syntheses and characterization of dinuclear cadmium(II) diimine complexes with bridging functionalized thiolate ligands

A series of cationic dinuclear cadmium (II) diimine complexes with bridging functionalized thiolates have been prepared and characterized. The crystal structures of [(bpy)4Cd2(μ-SC6H5)2](ClO4)2 (1) and [(bpy)4Cd2(μ-SC6H4NH2-4)2](ClO4)2 (2) have been determined. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of these complexes have also been reported.
