Abstract :
From (S)-tetrahydroisoquinolinic acid and the chloro-bridged complexes [(p-cymene)RuCl2]2, [Cp*IrCl2]2, [(R3P)MCl2]2 (M=Pd: R=Et, Ph; M=Pt: R=Et) the corresponding N,O-chelate complexes [LM(OOCCHCH2C6H4CH2NH)(Cl)] 2–5 were obtained in the presence of NaOMe. Bis-chelate complexes M(OOCCHCH2C6H4CH2NH)2 (M=Cu: 6, Pd: 7) were prepared from the acid and the metal(II) acetates. Crystal structure determinations of the PEt3 complexes of Pd and Pt showed both complexes to be isostructural, with the SCSN configuration at the junction of the chelate ring and the piperidine ring.
