Abstract :
The new potentially hexadentate ligand (2,9-diformylphenanthroline) bis(benzoyl)hydrazone (H2L) is synthesised and spectroscopically characterised. It reacts with dibutyltin diacetate and diphenyllead dichloride giving the complexes [(C4H9)2SnL] and [(C6H5)2PbL], respectively; their X-ray structure and spectroscopic characterization are reported.
