Vanadium complexes with enamines having tyrosine constituents

Four new oxovanadium(IV)-complexes of Schiff-base ligands with tyrosine constituents have been synthesised and characterised. The crystal and molecular structures of [A-VO(nap-R-tyr)(H2O)]·MeOH (nap is derived from 2-hydroxy-naphthalene-1-carbaldhyde) have been determined. The biological significance of vanadium–tyrosine interaction is addressed.
