Abstract :
The metal binding ability of 3′,5′-cyclic adenosine monophosphate (3′,5′-cAMP) molecule using copper(II) ion, as an example of biologically available divalent metal ion, was investigated by potentiometry, EPR and differential spectroscopy (UV–Vis, CD). One complex with stoichiometry Cu(3′,5′-cAMP)+ was found, where Cu(II) ion is bound by N-7 nitrogen of adenine moiety.
