Abstract
Gas-sensing behaviors to chemical vapors
of both the polypyrrole and the nano-structured polypyrrole
composite film prepared by adding a small
amount of carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) to act as nanofiber
seeds were investigated. The experimental results
showed that although the gas-sensitivity of the film to
trimethylamine was decreased to a certain extent by
adding CNTs to form the nano-structure, the resistance
of the film to moisture was improved greatly while the
rapid response was remained. Moreover, SEM and
XRD indicated that the orientation degree of the
polypyrrole composite film was improved significantly
by the CNTs.
