Abstract :
Dynamic vacuum thermolysis of (CH3)3SiN = P(n-Pr)2(OPh) yielded hexa-n-propylcyclotriphosphazene, [N = P(n-Pr)2]3. It was found that pure [N = P(n-Pr)2]3is insoluble in most solvents, however, [N = P(n-Pr)2]3 can be crystallized directly from the crude reaction mixture using hot hexanes. The molecular structure of hexa-n-propylcyclotriphosphazene has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and multinuclear NMR studies.
