Abstract :
A new polyoxomolybdate compound {Co(phen)3}2[Mo6O19][Mo8O26] · 2H2O (1) containing hexacoordinated {Co(phen)3}3+ (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) as counter ion has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by the elemental analyses, IR spectrum, TG analysis, and the single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure consists of four independent molecular moieties: {Co(phen)3}3+, {β-Mo8O26}4−, {Mo6O19}2−, and water molecules of crystallization.
