Ge(NR2)2 (R = SiMe3) insertion into LAu–Cl bonds

Germylene Ge(NR2)2 (R = SiMe3) inserts into the Au–Cl bond of LAuCl (L = PPh3, PCy3, PEt3, PMe2Ph, PMePh2) giving LAu–GeCl(NR2)2 (1). Complexes 1 and 2 are photoluminescent and NMR data indicate dynamic behavior in solution most likely as a result of phosphine exchange.
