Imine linked 1,8-naphthalimide: Chromogenic recognition of metal ions, density function theory and cytotoxic activity

The naphthalimide-based and imine coupled receptor has been synthesized and this receptor is evaluated for metal recognition properties. The Cu2+ and Co2+ recognition in the coordination sphere of receptor leads to a change in the photo-physical properties of receptor. The receptor and its metal complexes are evaluated for the cytotoxic activities and studies have led to construction of the molecular logic gate.
