Abstract :
An unprecedented three-dimensional (3D) polymer [Cu2(quinoxaline)2Mo4O13]n, formed from ξ-octamolybdate chains as building units and pairs of 1D [Cu(quinoxaline)]nn+ polymeric chains as linkers, provides the first example of an extended higher dimensional structure based on image octamolybdate chain. The basic building block of the octamolybdate chain included in the title compound is first reported to be constructed from ξ-isomer of octamolybdate unit.
