Abstract :
For all types of anisotropic laminates, the general form of Green’s function of the infinite plate, as given in Part 1, is applied to laminates composed of isotropic layers (extra-degenerate), symmetric quasi-isotropic laminates (degenerate), and an antisymmetric eight-layer cross-ply laminate (nondegenerate). Green’s function is also obtained for a semi-infinite plate subjected to a point force, moment, or displacement and slope dislocations, with a variety of in-plane and out-of-plane kinematical and kinetic boundary conditions. Furthermore, the solution of an infinite plate with an elliptical hole or inclusion is found at the same level of generality. Green’s function of the semi-infinite plate has different expressions depending on degeneracy. Hence the existing solutions for the nondegenerate case are not applicable to the various types of degenerate laminates, nor can they be extended in an obvious way to become valid for such cases.
