Vibration of angle-ply symmetric laminated composite plates with edges elastically restrained

This paper presents a discussion about the results of the article on the vibration of angle-ply symmetric laminated composite rectangular plates with edges elastically restrained, by Ashour (Vibration of angle-ply symmetric laminated composite plates with edges elastically restrained. Compos Struct [in press]). The same problem is treated but with the application of the Ritz method with orthogonal polynomials as coordinate functions. The existence of some inconsistencies in Ashour [in press] is demonstrated. New numerical results for the described plates are included.
