  • Abstract
    The current research was carried out with the aim of comparing superstitions and mental health in pregnant mothers and comparing it with normal mothers. The statistical population includes pregnant mothers who have consulted Farabi therapy centers in Mahabad and normal mothers who reside in the city of Mahabad. The random sampling method was used to select the sample of 50 pregnant and 50 normal mothers. Data were analyzed by the correlation coefficient statistical test and independent t. Findings indicate that there is no significant relation between the mental health and belief in superstitions among pregnant and normal mothers .The significance level was obtained p=0/424 with respect to pregnant mothers . As a result there is no significant relations between two variables of mental health and superstitious beliefs at the level of p=%5. Concerning normal mothers, the significance level was reported p=0/254 , indicating there is no significant relation between two variables of mental health and superstitious beliefs at the level p=%5. Finally, the research results indicated that the degree to which physical signs, anxiety, social performance and depression are prevailed is the same in both groups of mothers.
