Abstract
In this study, pervaporation of aqueous organic mixtures, such as H2O/MeOH (methanol), H2O/EtOH (ethanol), H2O/1-PrOH (1-propanol), H2O/2-PrOH (2-propanol), and H2O/AAc (acetic acid) were investigated by using green polymer, agarose, as a membrane material. The agarose membranes preferentially permeated H2O from aqueous organic mixtures by pervaporation. Membranes from agarose can be used as one of promising membranes for the dehydration of water miscible organics.
