Abstract :
Radiation hardening of pure metals has been adequately investigated. Of interest is to compare the radiation hardening of a number of FCC metals having different melting temperature. This makes it possible to estimate to what extent the homologous irradiation temperature affects the radiation hardening. This study investigated the radiation hardening of pure Al, Ni and Cu. These metals were irradiated in the RBT-6 reactor to doses producing 10−3, 10−2 and 10−1 dpa at Тirr = 200 and 300 °C. Comparative analysis of the irradiation temperature effect on the hardening of pure Ni and pure Cu revealed that qualitatively these pure metals have similar temperature dependence of the radiation hardening, providing the homologous temperature is used as the parameter for the comparison.
